Course Description:

The coastal zone is under increasing pressure from population growth and economic development. The coast is in one of the most dynamic landscapes on the planet and coastal processes can have serious impacts on public safety, economic development, and the environment. This course will study the nature of the coast and the processes that shape it. Students will also study the nature and causes of severe storms, tsunamis, erosion, sea-level rise, land subsidence, and climate change.
