Introduction to Geological Field Mapping, Batam, Indonesia (ES2101)

During this one week intensive course, second year students in the geoscience specialisation get to to apply their knowledge of physical geology to the real world. In Batam we have access to basic geological structures and a variety of sedimentary units not too far from Singapore. This course gives the students a solid base in geological field work, including characterisation of rocks, scientific work method and safety in the field. During the course the students produce maps and reports.
