Advanced Field Course in Geology

This is a 4-6 week course on geological field mapping. The students will travel to a region with interesting and accessible geology and use traditional and modern tools to understand the geology of the region. The students will define units, map these units, and measure strike and dip, to produce a complete geological map with unit descriptions. Students will then produce a field report, including relevant cross-sections.
