Course Description:
To learn the
general concepts of microbiology and its impact on the environment and
society. To discover and understand the range of applications of
microorganisms in industry. - To learn the basic cellular arrangements
of key microorganisms. - To acquire a basic understanding of important
microorganisms and important discoveries in microbiology. - To
understand the special requirements for microbial growth especially how
they relate to control of microorganisms in the environment or during
infection. - To bring together basic knowledge about microorganisms and
how this can be used to explain their impact on the environment. - To
link the acquired knowledge obtained in the different modules of the
course to comprehensively explain the interaction between microorganism
and their environment.
