The Carbon Markets Academy of Singapore (CMAS) aims to be Asia’s leading academy for carbon management education, aligning with Singapore’s vision of becoming a Carbon Services and Trading Hub for Southeast Asia and the Asia Pacific. Leveraging NTU’s ecosystem and sustainability initiatives, CMAS offers world-class courses in carbon services and trading. By partnering with NTU’s various entities and industry leaders, CMAS delivers a multidisciplinary programme that brings together diverse perspectives from both academia and the industry.

Programmes
CMAS offers a range of educational programmes to meet the growing demand for expertise in the carbon markets. We currently provide two main programmes at the Continuing Education and Training (CET) and postgraduate levels:
Executive Certificate in Carbon Markets (ECCM)
Our flagship Executive Certificate in Carbon Markets (ECCM) is a 9-day programme that is designed to provide professionals with a solid foundation in carbon markets (compliance, sectoral and voluntary), carbon measurement, reporting, and verification (MRV) and key elements of the carbon project lifecycle.
This programme is jointly delivered with Nanyang Business School’s Executive Education arm (NEE) and the Asian School of Environment (ASE) together with strong collaboration from more than 10 over Industry partners.
Executive MSc in Sustainability Management
As part of this programme, the Carbon Markets module offers Executive Master of Science students policy context, real-world examples of the voluntary carbon market, and practical guidance for navigating these markets from a corporate perspective.

The aim of this course is to equip students with a broad-based understanding of carbon markets and carbon pricing as it exists today. The course seeks to provide the policy context and an understanding of the international frameworks (e.g. Paris Agreement) in place whilst going through various examples of how both carbon markets and carbon pricing operate, including the challenges and future trajectories.
