Certificate in AI Ethics and Governance
In Collaboration with Singapore Computer Society
The Certificate in AI Ethics and Governance, a joint certification between Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and the Singapore Computer Society (SCS), aims to recognise and certify professionals in AI Ethics and Governance.
The certification comprises two courses:
- CET947 AI Ethics and Governance Fundamentals – 2 AU
- CET948 Addressing Issues in AI Ethics and Governance – 3 AU
Throughout the program, participants will undergo assessments to evaluate their understanding and application of AI Ethics and Governance. You’ll be graded based on your performance, and those who successfully secure a passing score for both courses and a Final Exam will be eligible for the award of the “Certificate in AI Ethics and Governance”, jointly issued by the Singapore Computer Society (SCS) and NTU.
The credits earned from these 2 courses can be stacked to NTU’s Graduate Certificate in Responsible Artificial Intelligence Practices.
Note: Each one academic unit (AU) comprises of about 13 hours of study load.

Who should attend
- Learners who have or are intending to deploy AI solutions in a responsible manner.
- Educators and trainers involved in cultivating IT professionals with a Responsible AI mindset.
To earn the Certificate in AI Ethics and Governance:
- Learners must sign up for the SCS Professional Membership where they will be issued with a verifiable digital badge (downloadable) after passing all courses’ assessments and a final examination.

*The Programme Fee stipulated above is SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) funded for up to 70%, applicable to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. It will be lower for those eligible for up to 90% SSG funding.
Overview of your learning journey:
- Programme Registration
- Upon receiving your registration details, NTU will share only your full name and email address with SCS for their membership outreach.
- SCS Membership Application
- SCS will reach out to you to process your SCS Professional Membership Application and collect membership fees.
- Programme Fee Payment
- Once the programme has been confirmed to run, NTU will reach out to you via email to collect the course fees after the registration closing date.
- Administrative Details
- When registration has closed, and payment has been received, NTU will email your Student Network Account details and SSG Attendance QR code for the respective courses to you.
- During the Programme
- For you to be eligible for SSG funding, you need to meet the following requirements:
- Attendance: Scan and submit your attendance for all sessions.
- Assessments: PASS all course assessments for both courses.
- Complete the SSG TRAQOM Surveys that will be sent to you at the end of each course.
- Pass the final examination which will be conducted at the end of the programme.
- Programme Ends
- Receive from NTU your Statement of Accomplishment (for a grade of D and above) or Certificate of Participation—dependent upon your assessment performance.
- SCS Members can download your verifiable digital badge and professional E-Certificate in AI Ethics and Governance. Please contact SCS for any queries.
