Common Engineering

Students admitted to Common Engineering (ENG)^ will read a semester of common first year courses shown in the study plan below before streaming into one of the following Engineering disciplines at the end of the semester:  

• Civil Engineering
• Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Environmental Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering
• Materials Engineering

^  Common Engineering will cease to offer after AY2026-27.

Note:

1)  Students without H2 A Level Physics will read PH1012 Physics A (4AU) instead of PH1011.

2)  Unless granted exemption, all students must take the Qualifying English Test (QET). Those who do not pass the QET are required to read HW0001 English Proficiency concurrently with CC0001 Inquiry and Communication in the Interdisciplinary World.
