Jia Jun, a Year 3 student in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), possesses an outgoing, open-hearted, and open-minded personality, fitting the ENFP MBTI type. He is actively engaged in various school and student clubs. With his boundless enthusiasm and natural ability to lead school clubs, he thrives in environments where he can explore new ideas, forge meaningful connections, and make a positive impact within the community.

“On the EEE side, I serve as the president of dEEEvelopers, a software interest club, and holds sub-committee roles in other EEE clubs like Machine Learning and Data Analytics, Garage@EEE, school’s outreach and more. Additionally, I am a U.n.I Friend, whose role includes assisting international students and people with disabilities in adapting to student life and enjoying their time in Singapore.

Beyond these commitments, I am representing both EEE and College of Engineering (CoE) as a student ambassador to help promote EEE programmes to pre-university students and aiding them in making informed decisions about pursuing their studies in EEE/CoE at NTU."

With his commitment to engaging in meaningful conversations with pre-university students, he often shares his real-life experiences with them, especially on his decision in choosing EEE as his programme of study.

“Driven by passion for math and science, I found my calling in engineering. EEE captivated me with its ability to merge code and hardware, revealing the beauty in design through the manipulation of 1s and 0s.”

Internships play a crucial role in providing students with invaluable exposure to the working world and various job roles within their industry of interest.

“Instead of solely focusing on roles related to their current field of study, such as EEE some individuals, like me, opt to explore different job scopes to gain a clearer understanding of their career preferences. For instance, during my second-year summer break, I undertook a 12-week internship in Cyber Security at DFS (Duty Free Shop Singapore HQ). Currently, for my mandatory 20-week Professional Internship. I am working as a Project Manager at Desay SV.”
