Meet Marcus, a second-year Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering student from the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Biotechnology. What initially drew him to this field were the abundant career opportunities it offers. “Eventually I realised how interesting the subject can really be. Professors here are experienced and enthusiastic about sharing practical insights from their own journeys in the field besides just imparting theoretical knowledge to us.”

Beyond the classroom, Marcus has taken up the opportunities available to him to enrich his student life experience. Engaging in diverse modules and actively participating in school clubs and activities have allowed him to forge meaningful connections and friendships with students from other schools. Moreover, he has found interest in the community-driven initiatives organised by the school such as carnivals and exam welfare packs, which serve to ease the pressures of academic life and foster a supportive environment for students.

One of Marcus's fond memories on campus is his involvement as a feeder in the Cat Management Network, a club dedicated to caring for our feline friends around campus. “Searching for and feeding the adorable cats not only give me a sense of fulfilment but is also a source of physical activity, particularly as some of these furry friends prove to be skilled hide-and-seek players.”

As Marcus navigates his academic pursuits and engages with the vibrant campus community, we hope that he continues to discover the multifaceted joys of a university student life.

With his exploratory spirit and ability to find joy in everyday life, Marcus is undoubtedly an ISFP.

He is also an UniBuddy student ambassador for the College of Engineering. Click here to chat with him and find out more about real insights into life at NTU! He can be among the most interesting people you’ll ever meet at NTU.
