The FlexiMasters in AI in Medicine is a cutting-edge programme designed to merge the realms of healthcare and AI seamlessly. It targets healthcare professionals who are driven to explore the revolutionary impact of AI in enhancing patient outcomes and clinical workflows. The FlexiMasters aims to cultivate a cadre of clinicians and healthcare professionals who are not only versed in the theoretical underpinnings of AI but are also practical innovators and ethical leaders in its application to medicine.  After completing the programme, learners will know how to use AI in healthcare both safely and ethically, understanding its limits and possibilities.

In a dynamic world where healthcare and technology intersect, there is an increasing need for healthcare professionals and engineers to collaboratively harness the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to benefit patient care and clinical practice. Globally, the world is integrating AI in all aspects of professional and personal life and this phenomenon is projected to transform human, machine and system operations across all domains of society e.g., financial, security, infrastructure, education, consumer behaviour and transport.

As one of the key pillars of society that delivers essential services to the population, healthcare is anticipated to capitalize on the potential benefits that AI offers to enhance the delivery of medical services and patient care outcomes, and to maximise the value of healthcare resources. Such a transformation requires AI-literacy among healthcare professionals, not only as a smart user of AI-tools, but also to be part of the eco-system that pushes the boundaries of AI to deliver smart solutions in healthcare. To address the increasing demand for AI integration in healthcare, LKCMedicine is collaborating with the National Healthcare Group and the School of Computer Science Engineering in NTU to offer a FlexiMasters AI in Medicine (AIMED) programme.

Focus of FlexiMasters AI Medicine Programme (AIMED)

The AIMED programme comprises seven AI-related modules of coursework (15 academic units) that will be delivered on a part-time basis over one academic year. The course is designed to attract both local and international participants who want to be proficient AI users and active co-creators in the lifecycle of clinical AI systems. Learners will be taught the intricate boundary of AI and the evaluation and validation of AI systems for potential application in healthcare settings, with a deep appreciation of the contextual requirements. The knowledge gained will better position healthcare professionals to identify and demand for AI solutions in their respective domains of practice, and to interface with scientists and engineers to influence the design of healthcare-centric AI solutions. Scientists and engineers will be better equipped to support healthcare-related AI solutions.

Why choose the AIMED?
