更生动教材盼提高学习兴趣 主题曲和微电影 伴中学华文课程而行

Ms Lin Rongchan (LSA) was interviewed by Lianhe Zaobao for her short story titled “Where are you going?”. Her work was selected to be one of the graded readers accompanying the new instructional materials for Chinese language (secondary school level) that are rolled out by the Ministry of Education, Singapore. Her short story was inspired by her father’s life as a taxi-driver and was meant as a retirement gift for her father. It has since been adapted into a short film starring local artiste Peter Yu.

Rongchan started out as a Chinese language teacher at a local secondary school. In the interview, Rongchan shared her views on literary adaptation, noting the importance of reaching out to students through a multi-pronged approach to nurture students’ interest in literature.
