Inside Hyundai's Vision for the Future: A Tour of Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS)
On 15 January 2025, NTUpreneur TIP-EN students had the unique opportunity to visit the Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore (HMGICS). Guided by site host Mr Indra, the students explored three key areas: the Smart Farm, the Factory VR Tour, and the Skytrack, where they caught a glimpse of Hyundai’s vision for the future of innovative mobility.
Factory VR Tour: A Microcosm of Future Production
Next, the students participated in the Factory VR Tour, which showcased Hyundai's cutting-edge automation and robotic technologies. Through a highly immersive virtual reality experience, the students explored the smart manufacturing processes designed to optimise efficiency, precision, and environmental sustainability.

Smart Farm: A New Vision of Sustainable Development
Beginning at the Smart Farm, students observed Hyundai’s state-of-the-art sowing, transplanting, and cultivation systems. As part of the experience, they harvested fresh vegetables and learnt about the benefits of a pesticide-free environment. The tour also featured Na Oh, the restaurant that incorporates the Smart Farm’s produce into seasonal Korean dishes, offering a delicious glimpse of a sustainable lifestyle.

Next, the students participated in the Factory VR Tour, which showcased Hyundai's cutting-edge automation and robotic technologies. Through a highly immersive virtual reality experience, the students explored the smart manufacturing processes designed to optimise efficiency, precision, and environmental sustainability.

The Skytrack: A Rooftop Driving Experience Like No Other
The highlight of the visit was the Skytrack, Singapore’s only rooftop driving track. Here, students were taken on an exhilarating ride in Hyundai's latest Electric Vehicle (EV), the IONIQ 5. They experienced the thrilling driving dynamics, tight cornering, and unparalleled comfort and stability that only an EV can provide.

Reflections on My Learning Experience:
Visiting HMGICS was an eye-opening journey. From the innovative Smart Farm to the immersive Factory VR Tour and the breathtaking experience at the Skytrack, every moment highlighted the transformative power of technology. This experience not only deepened our understanding of Hyundai Motor's advanced innovations but also reignited our passion for shaping a better future through technological innovations.
