Important Notes

• The minimum attendance requirement for each module is 75%. Except for medical leave, compassionate leave (refer to points on Medical Leave and Compassionate Leave), full-time students shall not be absent for more than 3 sessions out of a 12-session module.
• Students who need to be absent from studies beyond a cumulative period of 4 teaching weeks in a term should apply for full term leave instead as they would have missed many classes. Students should consult their School given the impact on their academic progression. 
• Students must seek the school’s approval for short leave of absence if they cannot attend classes.
• It is student's responsibility to notify NTUpreneur and course instructors on his/her absence from scheduled academic activities, and to apply for leave of absence.
• Students who are granted leave of absence are not allowed to fulfil any University requirements such as attend classes.
• Students are only deemed to have been granted leave of absence upon issuance of the official notification of approval by the University.
• The University reserves the right to refuse or revoke an approved leave of absence in the best interest of the student, or should the student be found to have provided any false or misleading information or fail to submit the relevant supporting documents.
• Students who are not granted leave of absence but are absent shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the University and shall have no automatic right of readmission to the University.

Medical Leave and Compassionate Leave

• Compassionate leave will be granted in the event of the demise of an immediate family member.
  
• Students who are on medical leave or compassionate leave shall fulfil the minimum attendance rate of 50% for each module.

Absent from an examination on account of illness

• A student who is absent from an examination on account of illness, may be permitted to retake the examination arranged by NTUpreneur and/ or the course instructor, on condition that:
  • The student has been examined by a medical practitioner registered with the Singapore Medical Council and a medical report attached with the original medical certificate. The documents must be submitted to the Office of Academic Services within 48 hours of the absence from the examination.
  • The medical report form is available at GSLink-Academic-Examination-Request for Medical Report Form. Students are responsible for providing the form to their doctor to fill in.

Application Procedure:

• A student who is granted medical leave must submit the original Medical Certificate (MC) from a licensed medical practitioner in Singapore no later than 7 working days after the date of issuance to NTUpreneur and the course instructor via email.

End of Leave Period and Resumption of Studies

• Students returning from short term leave are expected to continue their study after expiry of their leave. However, if a student wishes to discontinue from the courses, he must apply for withdrawal from the courses. Students who wish to withdraw their courses should approach their School or department for advice.
