Second Major in Philosophy
Eligibility
The 2nd Major in Philosophy is open to all students in College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
Below is the requirement for students who would like to pursue a 2nd Major in Philosophy.
- Minimum GPA of 4.0 and above by the end of their first year at university

- Students must complete the THREE (3) core courses as they provide students with a solid foundation in the philosophical discipline.
- Of the mandatory EIGHT (8) prescribed electives, students must choose at least TWO (2) HY4000 level courses.

- All Philosophy core courses must be completed in NTU.
- All 2nd Major courses must be read as GER-Unrestricted Electives.
- Our School will grant an exemption to 2nd Major students from 2 GER-Prescribed Elective courses. Exemptions will be in the GER-PE-Any category worth a total of 6 AUs. These 6 AUs will be transferred to the GER-Unrestricted Electives basket to give them ample room to complete their 2nd Major.
- Additional 10 AUs will be allocated to the GER-Unrestricted Electives basket so that students can take courses outside their 1st and 2nd Majors.
- Students will graduate with a BA (Hons) degree in their 1st Major and the 2nd Major will reflect on the final transcript.
