Michael Fam Chair Professorship in Food Science and Technology

Michael Fam Chair Professorship was launched in June 2013 with a total capital of S$1,205,978.82 comprising donations and matching fund from the government. The Fund was established in honor of Dr Michael Fam Yue Onn who has made immense contributions to the tertiary education, the society and the nation. Dr Fam was conferred Honorary Doctorate in NTU in 1993.

The aim of the professorship is to catalyze high quality research in the field of food science and technology, improving food safety and achieving food security. Professor Jorgen Schlundt was appointed as the Chair Professor from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2018. The current Michael Fam Chair Professor in Food Science and Technology is Professor William Chen Wei Ning.​
