Community Involvement Project

LKCMedicine Community Involvement Projects (CIP)

The main objective of Community Involvement Programmes is to serve, in a capacity appropriate for medical students, the beneficiaries found in our local society and other countries through the Local Community Involvement Programmes (LCIPs) and the Overseas Community Involvement Programmes (OCIPs) respectively.

At the start of each academic year, each CIP recruits a small group of M1s as committee members and regular volunteers. LCIPs may also reach out to adhoc volunteers across the year to help out with initiatives such as health screenings. The public is welcome to join us at our local blood donation drives and SGMarrow's cheek swab drives!

CareHub extends to all suitable patients who have been admitted to National University Hospital (NUH). These patients are stratified into 3 tiers according to the degree of their medico-psychosocial needs. Silver Trident targets Tier 2 patients specifically, as these patients have medico-psychosocial needs and gaps in their health management that need to be tackled but are not in extremely vulnerable health states where frequent hospital readmissions would impede the regularity and thus, efficacy of the home visits.
