Maintenance and Repair Office
In order to preserve and prolong the lifespan of equipment and facilities within the School to deliver impactful research and teaching, a comprehensive maintenance and repair programme has to be implemented. The Maintenance and Repair Office was established to fulfill this objective, in addition to other roles, i.e. ensure compliance of safety regulations, as defined by various government agencies, and champion NTU’s energy saving initiatives.
The programmes developed by the Maintenance and Repair Office aim to provide the following services:
- Maintenance and repair of equipment in Research Focus Laboratories
- Predictive, condition-based preventive maintenance
Specific programmes include:
- Application, renewal and termination of radiation licenses for equipment
- Certification and termination of new and existing pressure vessels and lifting equipment
- Calibration and certification of new and existing gas sensor systems
- Certification of new and existing cleanrooms, clean booths, laminar flow cabinets and bio-safety cabinets
- Certification of existing fume hoods
- Respirator fit test
- Oil change for rotary oil pumps
- Basic evaluation and repair of general equipment
- 3-pin plug replacement
- Refrigerator and freezer defrosting
- Monitoring of electrical consumption
