COURSES OF STUDY

The courses of study and the distribution of the courses for the Double Degree of Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and Psychology will be determined by the School of Biological Sciences with the approval of the University.

Each course will be assigned a certain number of academic units as determined by the University. The distribution of the courses of study and the associated number of academic units are shown in the table below.

  • Core – Compulsory courses required to satisfy programme requirements. In the first and second year, it is common in that all students enrol for the same core courses. Students must fulfil a total of 39AU of BS core and 12AUs of PSY core courses.
  • Major  Prescribed Electives (Biological Sciences discipline) – To fulfil a total of 3AU ( BS2xxx/BS3xxx/BS4xxx) Elective course.
  • Major Prescribed Electives (Psychology discipline) – To fulfil a total of 30AUs (Total 9 courses) from a wide range of Psychology Prescribed Elective with 6 level HP2xxx/HP3xxx and minimum of 3 level HP4000 courses.
  • 7 ICC - Common Core Courses: Focusing on Key Transferable Skills and Global Challenges - NTU Education​ 2025
  • 3 ICC - Foundational Core Courses: Including Effective Communication, Introduction to Data Science and a Mandatory Professional Internship
  • Broadening & Deepening Electives (BDE) – ​provides the opportunity to explore different courses in NTU; or take up more challenging and advanced topics within the chosen discipline.

** Students may choose a Final Year Project which covers the BS and PSY disciplines. A minimum CGPA of 4.50 and a grade of at least A- for the Final Year Project are required for the award of an Honours (Highest Distinction) Degree. 

For AY2024 intake onwards, minimum CGPA of 4.00 and a ‘Pass’ grade for FYP are required for the award of an Honours (Distinction) Degree.
