Gift-A-Family Initiative

AIM & BACKGROUND

A local-level social innovation under ComLink@Jurong West, developed by SSO@Boon Lay & Taman Jurong, with support from Mr Wendell Wong and a pool of donors in 2020. Partners such as MCCY, SG Cares Office Volunteer Centre@Boon Lay and Boon Lay Constituency Office formed the Coordinating Committee in Nov 2022.

APPROACH

Provides ComLink families with opportunities and resources to meet their aspirations, or resolve challenges that Government schemes/services may not address.

Families receive sponsorships for enrichment courses to achieve holistic development and achieve stability, self-reliance and social mobility (3Ses).

Leverage public-people private partnerships to incentivize positive outcomes and motivate families to improve their life situation.

With befrienders’ encouragement, families would complete the course sponsorship and a progress update will be provided to sponsors to share the positive impact made to the families.
