Dr Lee Boon Ooi

Dr Lee Boon Ooi obtained his Ph.D. & B.A. from National University of Singapore, M.Sc. from McGill University, Canada, and M.A. from University of Keele, UK. His research interests include relationship between culture and mental health, particularly, cultural psychiatry, indigenous healing systems, culture and psychotherapies, cultural psychopathology, cultural syndromes, health beliefs/illness representations/symptom attributions, and phenomenology of the body.

Dr. Isabelle Ong received her Ph.D. from University of North Carolina at Greensboro, M.Sc. from University of North Texas, and M.Ed. from National Institute of Education. Her research interests include Domestic Violence, Expressive Art Therapy, Integrative Treatment Modalities including Yoga and Mindfulness, Multiculturalism, Play Therapy, Religion and Spirituality, Sandtray Therapy, Social Justice and Advocacy, Trauma and Abuse.

Dr Tan Soo Yin

Dr Tan Soo Yin obtained her Ph.D. from University Putra Malaysia, B.Ed (Hons) from University Putra Malaysia, and Certificate in Education from Lembah Pantai Teachers' Training College, Kuala Lumpur. Her research interests include Substance-abuse counselling (individual and group), Counselling process, Counsellor self-efficacy and Counselling clinical supervision.

Mr Chern Siang Jye

Mr Chern holds a Masters of Economics from McGill University, Quebec, Canada and a Bachelors of Economics from the London School of Economics, UK. He currently oversees AIC’s engagement efforts with partners in the Community Care sector. Previously, he oversaw strategy and corporate functions, sector leadership development, grant making and research and data. He also speaks regularly on healthcare and ageing policy, integrated care and community care sector development.

He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of St Luke’s ElderCare (SLEC) in August 2016. Leading in the areas of organisational development, healthcare management and education, he has steered SLEC to sustained growth in corporate strategy and development, operational excellence, service delivery and partnerships alliance. Under his leadership, SLEC’s foundation as a day care and rehabilitation provider has expanded to enrich more lives in the community, providing a full suite of community care services including home care, nursing care, a residential care facility and emerging active ageing hubs.

Dr Michael Tan's research interest explores art and design practices in relation to health & well-being, care, ageing, and human flourishing. Inspired by assemblage theory, he is interested to explore the role of creative practice in shaping culture of care in various care settings and the wider context of medical/ health humanities and health communication.

Dr Tew Chee Wee

Dr Tew is a specialist doctor in Geriatric Medicine, specialising in clinical management of the elderly. Her areas of interest include community geriatrics, long term care, dementia and health professional education. Her current projects include evaluation of a hospital-based community nursing curriculum and development of a curriculum for long term care facility nursing.
