The preparatory lab designed to conduct petrological investigations contains rock-crushing and cutting equipment to prepare rock samples. Facilities in this lab also include high-temperature muffle furnaces as well as one-atmosphere gas-mixing furnaces  allows material studies and synthesis under controlled oxygen atmosphere across wide range of temperatures and up to 1700degC

Applications

The vertical tube gas-mixing furnaces operate up to max 1600°C and are equipped with various gas mixtures including CO/CO2/SO2/Ar to allow adjusting oxygen atmosphere for wide range of experimental applications. The in situ oxygen fugacity is measured and monitored by an oxygen-specific solid electrolyte.
