PROGRAMME OPTIONS


The Second Major in Business is applicable to the following Engineering disciplines from which prospective students can choose according to their interests and strengths:

  • Second Major in Business (International Trading) 

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The structure of the Bachelor of Engineering with a Second Major in Business (EGBM) integrates the requirements of both the Engineering and Business majors within the typical candidature of 4 years. Right from Year 1, the EGBM curriculum incorporates Business foundation courses alongside Engineering major courses. At the end of Year 1, students can continue with the Second Major in Business (Mainstream) or specialise in International Trading under the second major during the International Trading Programme (ITP) Opt-In Exercise.

PROGRAMME OPTIONS

Students can choose from 9 Engineering majors and 6 Business tracks in Accounting, Business Analytics, Banking & Finance, International Trading, Marketing and Operations Management, according to their interests and strengths.


PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The structure of the Bachelor of Engineering with a Second Major in Business programme integrates the requirements of both the Engineering and Business majors within the typical candidature of 4 years. The Year 1 curriculum incorporates Business foundation courses along with the Engineering major courses. From Year 2, the Business major component branches into 6 advanced business tracks and students will be streamed via a combination of student option and academic performance.

GRADUATION  

Graduates of Engineering with a Second Major in Business will be awarded a Bachelor of Engineering in their chosen Engineering major with a separate certificate for the Second Major in Business.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must meet the minimum entry requirements of Engineering and Business programmes, including the minimum subject requirements. Please refer to the Office of Admissions for more information.   


TUITION FEES AND SCHOLARSHIPS


The tuition fees for the Bachelor of Engineering with a Second Major in Business will be pegged to the fees of the Bachelor of Engineering programmes. Eligible students may also be considered for scholarships that include fully-paid subsidised tuition fees and living allowances. Scholarship terms and conditions apply. ACCREDITATION

All Bachelor of Engineering programmes at NTU College of Engineering are accredited by The Institution of Engineers Singapore, the Singapore signatory of the Washington Accord​, through its Engineering Accreditation Board. The Washington Accord is an international agreement for mutual recognition of the substantial equivalence of engineering academic programmes in satisfying the academic requirements for the practice of engineering at the professional level.


The Nanyang Business School is the first business school in Singapore, and the third in Asia, to be accredited by both the  European Quality Improvement System and Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. NBS is also one of only nine business schools outside of the US to be accredited with the AACSB in Accounting. These are the most widely recognised quality assurance standards for accounting and business education, and they assure that degrees NBS confers are recognised around the world.
