LKCMedicine Celebrates TTSH's 175th anniversary

As part of Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s (TTSH) 175th Founder’s Day celebrations, a Central Health art mural was launched at HealthCity Link on July 25. Representatives from the greater healthcare community, the Tan Family and HealthCity Novena partners placed icons of their respective organisations on the 24m-long mural which reflects the healthcare landscape. LKCMedicine Dean Professor James Best pasted the School’s Novena Campus icon on the mural. A HealthCity Novena coffee table book was also launched at the event.


LKCMedicine Postdocs Awarded the Research Scholarship Block Postdoctoral Fellows

 
Congratulations to Drs Andrew Teo and Theresia Mina for being awarded the Research Scholarship Block Postdoctoral Fellows (RSB-PDF) on July 10 by the NTU Talent Recruitment and Career Support (NTU TRACS). The RSB-PDF funds deserving postgraduate research fellows, which provide awardees the opportunity to advance their postdoctoral training under established faculty members and build their research career. The duo was among 25 recipients of the highly competitive RSB-Postdoctoral Fellowship, who were selected through a stringent process from nominations from across NTU.


Invisible Attacks at LKCMedicine Clinical Sciences Building

On July 15, a cybersecurity awareness joint exhibition by LKCMedicine and NTU Centre for IT Services titled "Invisible Attacks" was launched at LKCMedicine's Clinical Sciences Building, Novena campus. LKCMedicine Dean Professor James Best and NTU Chief Information Officer Mr Alvin Ong were on hand to officially open this inaugural collaboration. The exhibition will end its run on September 13, when it will tour LKCMedicine's partner institutions.


LKCMedicine joins the national Target Translation Consortium

On June 26, LKCMedicine, and seven other healthcare and academic institutions, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Target Translation Consortium (TTC) at A*STAR. The TTC was launched at the opening of the Experimental Drug Development Centre (EDDC), which was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance and Chairman of the National Research Foundation Mr Heng Swee Keat. Helmed by the EDDC, the TTC coordinates early-stage drug discovery efforts across academia, healthcare institutions, and government agencies.
