Mr Lim Jim Koon

Mr Lim Jim Koon, former Editor-in-Chief, Chinese Newspapers Division, Singapore Press Holdings, is Adjunct Professor at Nanyang Centre for Public Administration, NTU Singapore; and School of Humanities and Behavioural Sciences, Singapore University of Social Sciences. He graduated from Nanyang University with a BA (Hons) degree in Government and Public Administration in 1973. Starting his journalism career in 1977 as a translator with Sin Chew Jit Poh, Lianhe Zaobao’s predecessor, Mr Lim rose through the ranks as Foreign Editor, News Editor, Executive Editor and Associate Editor of Lianhe Zaobao, before becoming its Acting Editor in 1993 and the Editor in 1995, on which he served until his retirement in July 2011.

Mr Lim served on the boards of several statutory organizations and committees, including Public Transport Council, National Arts Council, Urban Redevelopment Authority, Civil Service College, National Heritage Board, the Preservation of Monuments Board, Singapore Chinese Orchestra and the Political Films Consultative Committee.

Mr Lim was formerly Advisor to the Center for World Chinese Media Studies at Peking University and Adjunct Professor in the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at NUS.​​​​​​​

Mr Lim received the Mobil ASEAN Journalism Awards in 1984, the Nanyang Alumni Achievement Award in 2007, the Hsing Yun Journalism Award in 2010 and the Nanyang Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011. ​​​

林任君先生，新加坡报业控股华文报集团前总编辑，现为南洋理工大学南洋公共管理研究生院和新跃社科大学人文与行为科学学院。他在1973年毕业于南洋大学，获政府与公共行政学专业荣誉学士学位；1977年加入《联合早报》的前身《星洲日报》担任翻译员，就此开启了新闻专业生涯。林先生在《联合早报》分别担任过国际新闻编辑，新闻编辑，执行编辑和副总编辑。1993年林先生成为《联合早报》的代总编辑，并于1995年起任总编辑，直至2011年7月退休。

林先生曾担任多个法定机构和委员会的董事会成员，包括公共交通理事会，国家艺术理事会，新加坡市区重建局，新加坡公共服务学院，国家文物局，古迹保护委员会，新加坡华乐团和政治电影咨询委员会。

林先生也曾任北京大学世界中文媒体研究中心的顾问以及新加坡国立大学李光耀公共政策学院的客座教授。 ​​​​​​​​

林先生曾经荣获多个奖项，包括1984年的美孚东盟新闻奖、2007年的南洋校友成就奖、2010年的星云真善美新闻传播贡献奖以及2011年的南洋卓越校友奖。  ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
