Imperial Connection: Countdown to Transform MedEd 2020

We are busy making the final preparations for our exciting joint Imperial-LKCMedicine medical education conference taking place in London on 13-14 March. Transform MedEd 2020 will showcase innovation, expertise and transformation in medical training and education; it will present challenges and discuss potential solutions, with the help of academics, educators, students, patients and leaders joining us from all corners of the globe in a truly international collaboration.  The conference is being held across two closely located venues: Imperial College London and the Royal Geographic Society.

So far, over 300 people have registered to attend, coming from more than 100 international institutions. We will welcome close to 200 presenters and – if you didn't know already – our keynote speakers are Professor Abraham Verghese and Professor Jennifer Cleland, with Professor Peter Abrahams as our dinner speaker. Their talks alone will provide inspiring and enriching experiences, adding yet more value for all those able to participate. 

Organising a high quality international conference is multi-layered and complex, requiring heightened engagement from all concerned and ensuring that the quality and breadth of the scope and vision are realised.  Building on the first joint conference held in Singapore in 2018, LKCMedicine and Imperial College are working together at all the key stages and levels: the Steering Committee is chaired by the Vice-Deans of both Schools, the Scientific Committee comprises academics from both Schools working in partnership to demonstrate the best in innovation from all our themes. The Organising Committee is moving forward with interested sponsors and exhibitors, and currently we're focusing on finalising the look and the feel of the conference on the day.

There's still much to do and time is upon us, and the close consultation and cooperation between our schools has reached new levels of shared achievement. We are very grateful to all our colleagues in London and Singapore for helping us bring this conference to fruition
