Associate Professor Victor Lim Fei co-publishes a journal article and speaks at “Multimodality in Education: An Agenda for Research & Practice” event in Taipei, Taiwan

Assoc Prof Victor Lim Fei from NIE’s English Language and Literature Academic Group (ELL AG), co-wrote a journal article titled “Multimodal Composing in the English Classroom: Recontextualising the Curriculum to Learning” in the journal of English in Education. The paper focuses on the topic of multimodal composing, where students create artefacts to learn and demonstrate their learning, and seeks to understand how teachers can design for students’ learning through multimodal composing with the use of a pedagogic metalanguage. It also discusses the implications of the design and evaluation of students’ learning through multimodal composing and reflect on the nature of the design work by teachers as they negotiate the curriculum requirements and make sense of their professional learning.

On 9 March 2023, he was also invited to speak at the “Multimodality in Education: An Agenda for Research & Practice” organised by the National Taiwan University of Science & Technology in Taipei, Taiwan. He shared on a topic titled “Multimodality in Education – An Agenda for Research and Teaching”.
