Centre for Assessment & Evaluation (CAE): Dr Sue Swaffield's visit to the CAE Office
On 23 February 2024, CAE had the privilege of hosting Dr Sue Swaffield from the University of Cambridge at our office at block 5 (NIE5-01-06).
About Dr Sue Swaffield:
- Founder member of Leadership for Learning: the Cambridge Network at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education
- Teaches & researchers in the fields of educational leadership, school improvement and assessment for learning
- Executive Editor of international journal 'Assessment in Education: Principles, Policy and Practice'
- Written extensively on Assessment for Learning
- Awarded honorary life membership of the Association for Achievement and Improvement through Assessment (AAIA)

Dr Sue Swaffield was in the National Institute of Education (NIE) for a presentation at the Jalinan Budi Seminar, titled "The Influence of Cultural Context on the Implementation of Assessment for Learning in Asian Educational Systems". Together with Dr Roszalina Rawi from NIE's Asian Languages and Cultures Academic Group, they delved into how cultural values impact AfL practices and explored how Asian cultural trends may either align or challenge AfL principles.
