Epistemic Virtues in Education
Epistemic virtues are character traits that foster knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. Emerging from philosophy, epistemic virtues have captivated scholars in various social sciences, and have impacted domains like law, medicine, and education. This talk introduces this thriving field of study, with a particular emphasis on education, sharing insights from a comprehensive survey conducted in the Netherlands.
Professor Boudewijn de Bruin (Groningen, the Netherlands) is a philosopher and business ethicist, currently working on ethical and legal aspects of business, sustainability, and climate change.
His latest book is The Business of Liberty: Freedom and Information in Ethics, Politics, and Law (OUP 2022).
