Collectively, the instructional Colleges, Schools, autonomous institutes and pan-university entities and thematic research institutes and centres conduct basic and applied research in the natural and life sciences, engineering and technology, medicine and healthcare, social sciences and the humanities.  Cooperation with the National Institute of Education is intensifying as lifelong learning grows in importance.  In addition, NTU hosts industrial-scale testbeds and demonstrators as key assets for attracting commercial partnerships. Research priorities evolve continually, requiring intensification through new centres and programs to answer seminal scientific questions, conduct feasibility studies, and deliver a flexible workforce.  Through continuous renewal, the vibrancy and competitiveness of NTU are preserved.
