Social Engagement and Community Service

Established in 2010, My Community is a non-profit organisation dedicated to community-based participatory research, heritage assessments, and the creation of community museums. Recognised as a charity in 2015 and an Institution of Public Character in 2016, our mission is to capture and preserve community stories, deepen appreciation of heritage, and reconnect people to places and social networks. With 500 volunteers and a dedicated team, we organise guided tours, exhibitions, festivals, and various programs in Queenstown and beyond, celebrating the uniqueness of each neighbourhood and fostering greater community involvement in cultural management and urban governance.
