Imperial Connection: Imperial and LKCMedicine launch Digital Transform MedEd
By: Emma Horan (Collaborative Partnerships Officer, London Office of LKCMedicine)
In the run-up to the Transform MedEd conference in November 2021, Imperial College London and LKCMedicine have launched Digital Transform MedEd; a series of online poster presentations and bi-monthly interactive events to celebrate the work and contribution to the 2020 conference's four themes; Evidence-based Education, Humanities and Social Sciences in Medical Education, Technology-enhanced education, and Partnerships in Medical Education.
The first online workshop, 'Doctors Are People Too: How Research Can Inform Policy and Practice' by Vice-Dean (Education) Professor Jennifer Cleland, was held in September and drew in participants from all over the world. The forum generated interesting discussion points on where research can be continued, and we look forward to seeing how new collaborative research evolves as a result.
The next digital event will take place on Wednesday 25th November at 5pm SGT: 'Global challenges, local solutions: evidence-based education for future healthcare', a one hour symposium led by Dr Lorainne Tudor Car (LKCMedicine) and Dr Kathleen Leedham-Green (Imperial College London). Registration is free at https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_I_j6EhZTTtKwhTJ78WyDVA
You can join the Transform MedEd mailing list for access to poster presentations, recordings of previous sessions, and announcements about upcoming online events at www.transformmeded.org/digital-transform-meded.
Planning for the 2021 is underway and registration and abstract submission will open at the beginning of the New Year. Make sure you are signed up to the Transform MedEd mailing list to keep up to date with announcements. If you have any questions the Transform MedEd team can be contacted on [email protected].
