NIE Academics Among the All-Time Top-100 Authors Worldwide in the Field of Educational Technology

Prof Looi Chee Kit, Professor in the Learning Sciences and Assessment Academic Group in NIE, and Dr Wong Lung Hsiang, Senior Research Scientist at the Office of Education Research (OER), are among the Top-100 authors worldwide in academic publications in the area of Educational Technology, according to the rankings released by Microsoft Academic Authors Analytics. This analytics system performs analyses on academic writers worldwide and ranks them in aspects of saliency, prestige, citations, publications, and H-index. Prof Looi and Dr Wong’s all-time rankings in these various aspects can be seen in the tables below:

Among them, Dr Wong clinched the 1^st spot in the 10-year saliency, prestige, and citation lists in the area of Personal Learning Environment. He is ranked 4^th, 2^nd and 2^nd in the respective all-time lists of the same area. Dr Wong is also ranked amongst the top-10 authors in the sub-topic of Mobile-Assisted Language Learning in the past 10 years, with a rank of 2^nd in the saliency list, and 1^st in citations, publications, and H-index lists.

- Dr Peter Seow, OER Research Scientist, ranks 7^th, 27^th, and 36^th in the all-time Personalised Learning prestige, saliency, and citation lists, and 5^th, 15^th, and 12^th in the same lists in the 10-year category. Additionally, in the sub-topic of Learning Sciences, Dr Seow ranks 39^th, 67^th, and 67^th in the 10-year saliency, prestige, and citation lists.
