In this insightful talk held on 28 August 2024, Professor Paul Victor Patinadan, a distinguished expert in mental health and well-being from SSS Psychology Programme, had shared valuable strategies for managing workplace stress and preventing burnout through compassionate self-care. This session was designed to equip alumni with practical tools for identifying burnout, finding balance, and sustaining mental health in increasingly demanding work environments.

Teh Tarik with Prof Walid: An Evening with SSS Alumni & Students
SSS@NTU commenced the evening of Thursday, March 27th, with a delightful buffet dinner, providing the perfect setting for SSS Alumni and current students to mingle and connect. This was followed by an engaging talk on current global affairs by Asst Prof Walid, known for his Teh Tarik with Walid Series. He conducted a special session exclusively for the SSS Family titled "Teh Tarik with Walid: Singapore Politics in Light of the Middle East," focusing on the connections between Singaporean politics and the ever-evolving Middle Eastern landscape.
The stimulating discussion prompted deep thinking and provided an opportunity to share thoughts and tap into Assistant Professor Walid's expertise in Public Policy and Global Affairs.

In an insightful talk, Behavioral Economics: Nudging Behavioral Change, led by Prof. Eko, discover why we often make irrational decisions in our everyday choices—whether it’s about finances, health, or lifestyle—and learn how behavioral economics sheds light on these biases. Prof. Eko delved into the concept of “nudging,” explaining how simple, thoughtful adjustments in choice architecture can guide us toward better decisions without limiting our freedom. Participants gained practical insights to improve decision-making for themselves, their family, and society as well as to understand the power of behavioral nudges!
