NIE Singapore Undergraduate Online Scholarship
The National Institute of Education (NIE), an autonomous institution within the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore is the only teacher education institute in Singapore. We play a key role in the preparation of teachers and in the provision of teacher professional and school leadership development programmes.
NIE launched the NIE Singapore Undergraduate (UG) Online to open up our courses to local and international students. It is a 4-week virtual summer programme that will run every July. Students can read up to two courses during the 4 weeks.
We are happy to announce that the registration for NIE Singapore UG Online is now open! The courses will run every July. Although the courses are pitched at the UG level, we welcome non-UG students, for example, students awaiting entrance into UG programmes, students enrolled in Postgraduate programmes, and even trained teachers to join us. All participants will receive a certificate of completion. Transcripts will be provided to all matriculated undergraduate students for them to credit transfer the courses they read during the programme (subjected to the approval from their home university).
NIE is offering a number of NIE Singapore Undergraduate Online scholarships to encourage more students from ASEAN and developing countries to take part in the NIE Singapore Undergraduate Online.

NIE is offering a number of places to international undergraduate students for a semester. The Semester@NIE programme is an excellent opportunity if a university is looking at providing its top students with an overseas stint. The Semester@NIE programme is for fee-paying Year 2 or 3 undergraduate students who aspire to come to Singapore to learn more about our education system and experience how we prepare teachers for different disciplines. All courses taken in NIE are credit transferable to your degree that will be conferred by your home university. This stint will give the top students a chance to broaden their undergraduate experience.
NIE has an NTU-NIE Teaching Scholars Programme (TSP) that augments a 4-year Double Major Undergraduate Degrees - Bachelor of Arts (Academic Discipline/Education) and Bachelor of Science (Academic Discipline/Education) programmes. The TSP is the latest addition to the existing suite of scholar programmes in NTU. It is a premier scholars programme aimed at preparing tomorrow’s leaders of education who possess the passion and aspiration to inspire, nurture and lead our next generation. The TSP scholars are all sponsored by Singapore’s Ministry of Education.
Together the TSP and the BA/BSc (Academic Discipline/Education) programmes offer in-depth content specialisation and feature an exciting multi-disciplinary curriculum that comprises a wide selection of electives and seminars by distinguished professors, government leaders and industry luminaries. We are now offering opportunities for international students to join our TSP scholars in their courses.
NIE runs the full BA/BSc Double Major programmes and we have professors (and courses) in content subjects like English, English Literature, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, Mathematics History, Art, Music, Sports Science, Physical Education, etc. In addition, we have experts in all disciplines of education, ranging from educational psychology to learning sciences.
