Two Decades and Beyond: Growing Education Research in Singapore

CRPP 20th anniversary report

The Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice (CRPP) was established in 2002 and since then, it has been an integral part of the National Institute of Education (NIE) — Singapore’s sole teacher-training institution affiliated with the Nanyang Technological University (NTU). CRPP’s purpose was to develop and implement a comprehensive research programme, focused primarily on classroom research, to document and evaluate curriculum changes introduced in the late 1990s, to provide policy advice to the Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE), and to undertake a series of curricular, pedagogical, and assessment interventions and innovations.

As part of the Centre for Research in Pedagogy and Practice's (CRPP) 20th Anniversary celebration in 2022, the Centre has put together a report that feature its story, history, current research agenda and vision, people, key programmes, partnerships, and more.
