NTU joins “Safety Training Consortium”
Accelerated access for NTU staff and students to safety and health training materials from leading research US Based Universities.
We are pleased to announce that NTU is the first international university to be accepted into membership of the Safety Training Consortium.
The Safety Training Consortium is a higher education membership organisation founded by research universities, for the purpose of developing safety training for the research community. Members of the consortium include Harvard, Northwestern University, University of California and many more. This consortium is exclusively committed to creating safety training programs tailored to the unique needs of the research community.
The Safety Training Consortium offer an extensive library of over 120 e-learning modules, designed to enhance awareness and knowledge in safety and health for general and specialised topics such as:
- General Laboratory Safety
- Biosafety
- Radiation Safety
- Chemical Safety
- Personal Protective Equipment Training
- Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Initial Biosafety Training
- Animal Biosafety Training
- Emergency & Incident Response to Biohazard Spills and Releases
- Dual Use of Research Concern
The objectives of our subscription to the Safety Training Consortium are manifold:
- To promote a robust culture of safety and well-being within our community.

- To empower our university community with the knowledge and skills vital for safer and healthier research environments.
- To actively contribute to fostering a safer and more productive research ecosystem within our university.

The platform offers an extensive catalogue of e-learning modules, allowing you to select the training most relevant to your research field and area of work.
We strongly encourage all departments, schools, and centers to incorporate these specialized safety modules into their research programs, safety orientations, and training initiatives. By doing so, we can collectively elevate the safety and preparedness standards across our research community.
In the coming months, we will have these modules integrated into our Workday and NTULearn, this would allow easy access to the modules and generate training records.
