Single-IRB Review (for A*STAR, NHG, NTU, NUS, & Singhealth)

NTU-IRB, together with A*STAR, NHG, NUS and Singhealth have agreed to cooperate and enable cross-recognition of each other's ethics review, thereby eliminating dual (or multiple) reviews of the same research protocol. Collaborative studies involving both NTU and partner investigators can be reviewed by either Party's IRB, and should be submitted by the Lead PI to their respective institution's IRB. If the collaborative research involves patients/medical/dental records or databases from NHG or Singhealth institutions, ethics review should be made through NHG DSRB or Singhealth CIRB, regardless of where the Lead PI is from.
NTU-PIs who have obtained approvals from elsewhere are required to notify NTU-IRB by submitting your IRB approval letter and protocol details through NTU's ERMP. NTU-IRB will issue a letter of notification stating that the application has been approved by A*STAR-IRB, or NHG-DSRB, or NUS-IRB, or Singhealth-CIRB, and no review is required by NTU-IRB based on the mutual recognition agreement.
Please contact NTU-IRB if you have any queries.
