Conducting studies overseas
What if I am conducting my studies overseas?
Under NTU's policies on research integrity and research involving human subjects, studies conducted overseas by NTU PIs are required to have NTU-IRB approval. This is especially important if you are the grant holder of the proposed study.
Additionally, NTU PIs are reminded to check the local requirements overseas to determine if any overseas approval of your research is also required.
Studies conducted overseas (especially in developing countries) by NTU PIs need to be held to international best practices in ethical standards. If you have already obtained local IRB approval in the country where the study will be carried out, submission of the approval letter to NTU-IRB will greatly expedite the reviewing process.
