Section 424 of the Criminal Procedure Code

What is Section 424 of the Criminal Procedure Code?

Section 424 of the Criminal Procedure Code (“CPC424”) is a law that requires individuals to report to the police if they are aware of criminal activity, i.e. crimes that have been committed or the intention to commit. (Note: not all criminal offences are reportable under CPC424)

How does this affect me?

During the course of research, a study team may obtain information from participants indicating that they were involved in a crime. The likelihood of this happening depends on the research objectives and the study design.
