Admission Requirements

We are looking for candidates with good bachelor's or master's degree and strong motivation and passion for research. 

Submission of application is fully digital. Electronic copies of your supporting documents must be uploaded through the online portal.

​GMAT or GRE score report (exam taken in the last 5 years) 
Mandatory for ALL applicants.

​TOEFL or IELTS score report (exam taken in the last 2 years) 
Can be waived off if Bachelor's degree is conducted in English.

​Official Bachelor's and Master's degree (if any) transcripts with detailed results. 
Transcripts should include the marking scale (interpretation/explanation of grades/marks) and they should show the university name with the official stamp.

​Bachelor's and Master's degree (if any) certificates 
Applicants who are presently completing their degree must submit a certification letter from the university stating the expected graduation period.

​Two academic referee reports 
Before you apply online and provide the name and email addresses of your referees, ensure that nominated referees have already agreed to provide referee reports as they will be contacted by the University to provide their reports online.  Provide your referees' official email addresses and not personal email addresses.

​A brief research proposal 
A short write-up (approximately 2-3 pages in length) on the topic/idea that you wish to investigate/study if you are admitted into the programme.

​Statement of objectives 
The statement of objectives explains (a) your purpose and objective for applying to our PhD programme; (b) your significant accomplishments and achievements; and (c) your strengths and weaknesses in your chosen area of specialisation.​

Programme Structure & Duration

The NBS PhD programme is a full-time research programme that is typically completed between 4 and 5 years. 

Curriculum

The NBS PhD Programme runs on trimester calendar (13 weeks per term), with commencement of academic year in late July. The overview of the curriculum consists of the below:
