Tips and Guide

As educators begin to utilise GenAI tools like ChatGPT in the classroom, there are some basic applications that can augment and streamline existing pedagogical activities. Some basic principles to follow are to start small, focus on GenAI's current capabilities rather than limitations, and prioritise oversight to ensure accuracy. Here are some examples from chapter 3 of the free ebook Generative AI in Higher Education (Chan & Colloton, 2024).

  • Generate practice problems and worked examples

Research:

  • Assist with literature reviews by summarising and synthesising papers
  • Suggest relevant sources and citations on a topic
