Health screening
All students must undergo a health screening prior to admission to determine their medical fitness to pursue the programme of study in the University.
Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents
Students can complete the health screening at:
- any registered physician in Singapore or
- selected Fullerton Healthcare clinics in Singapore *
- the campus clinic “Fullerton Health @ NTU”, University Health Service Building

Students who are unable to have the health screening done at the Fullerton Health @NTU may have it done by any registered physician in Singapore. The completed Health Screening Form (MC1) should be submitted personally by hand to the Fullerton Healthcare @NTU by 15 July 2025 as reports sent by mail might be lost in the process. If you are submitting your completed medical report to Fullerton Health @NTU, please make an appointment using the link in the email sent by Fullerton Healthcare. Do note that there will be an endorsement fee of S$15 (excluding GST) payable.
Students who intend to complete the health screening at Fullerton Health @NTU or other selected Fullerton Clinics in Singapore*.
You will receive an email from Fullerton Healthcare (fh.notification@fullertonhealth.com) after you have accepted the offer and obtained your matriculation number. Please follow the instructions to book your health screening appointment.

Female students who are expecting their menstrual period to coincide with the health screening, please complete your health screening after the last day of your period. This is to avoid having to come back a second time to complete the urine test, as an ongoing or recent period will interfere with the results of the urine test.
Students enrolling into the Biological Sciences related programmes+ are required to take the Hepatitis B screening blood test in addition to the standard health screening and MC1B form must be completed for the Hepatitis B screening blood test.
For students enrolling into the Medicine (MED) or Chinese Medicine (CMED) programme, you are required to complete the requirements indicated in both forms below:-
- Admission Health Screening medical exam, inclusive of chest x-ray, blood tests, and urine tests – MC1 form to be completed online via the link provided in the email sent by Fullerton Healthcare
- Immunisation and Additional Screening Form - Immunisation and Additional Screening for MED and CMED students
Following the initial medical exam, additional vaccinations and blood tests may be recommended by the doctors at Fullerton Health @ NTU. These should be carried out and subsequently completed at Fullerton Health @ NTU.
Special medical conditions to note:
Hepatitis B - Students with this condition are not eligible for the Chinese Medicine programme from the School of Biological Sciences.
Partial Colour Blindness - Students are eligible for engineering programmes only when they are able to correctly identify red and green wires. Students are, however, not eligible for the Chinese Medicine programme when they are colour blind, whether complete or partial, and regardless of whether they can correctly identify red and green.

International Students
Mandatory Health Screening for Student's Pass
The Singapore Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) requires all international students to undergo a health screening, including an HIV test and a chest X-ray for Tuberculosis clearance, as part of the Student's Pass application process.
Special note: All international students should upload the Medical Examination Report (MC2) to the Singapore Immigrations & Checkpoint Authority portal in their home country for early approval of student pass application.
New Option for Health Screening
International students may now complete the required health screening at any licensed medical clinic in their home country from June 2025 onwards, not earlier. Alternatively, they can complete at Fullerton Health @NTU or selected Fullerton Clinics in Singapore*.
Health screening comprises of:
- MC1 - Health Screening Form (MC1)
- MC2 - The url will be provided at NTU acceptance portal from June 2025 onwards for those offered admission.
The test results done (translated in English) must then be endorsed by Fullerton Healthcare @NTU for a nominal fee to activate your student medical insurance. This endorsement must be completed before the start of your programme. Fullerton Healthcare @NTU may charge for additional tests if the reports provided by the licensed medical clinic does not meet the requirements (for instance X-Ray image did not carry a label bearing the full name of the student or X ray film is unclear).
Health screening period at Fullerton Health @NTU is from 1 July 2025 onwards. You will receive an email from Fullerton Healthcare (fh.notification@fullertonhealth.com) from May 2025.
- Health Screening in Home Country (Important Details)
Upload the completed Medical Examination Report (MC2) to the ICA portal for early approval before traveling to Singapore. Ensure the medical report was issued within the last three months for it to be valid with ICA i.e from June 2025 onwards only. MC2 or medical report uploaded at ICA website before June 2025 will NOT be accepted. If the report is not in English, provide a certified English translation. - It is compulsory to make appointment at Fullerton Healthcare for health screening or to endorse your medical reports. Walk in without appointment or those who do not follow strictly to their appointment timing and dates may be turned away if the queue is too long for the day.

If abnormality is found during the physical examination, you may be required to go for a Chest X-ray at an additional fee of S$15.
Fees indicated are subjected to prevailing GST.
^ Should any student wish to do these other recommended vaccinations and subsequent blood tests with his/her own doctor, the student will need to submit original hard copies of the vaccination certificates and/or blood test results directly to Fullerton Health @ NTU, where the student shall pay an additional one-time administration fee of $30 for Fullerton Health @ NTU to verify and complete the requirements of the Immunisation and Additional Screening form.
