Open Classroom
Learning by observing and discussing how others teach is an effective professional development activity that forms part of the best teaching programmes in the world.
It overcomes teaching silos and creates an open, supportive community climate, facilitating faculty and instructors to learn from each other’s practices.
CTLP arranges classroom teaching opportunities for new faculty to observe the teaching practices of Teaching Excellence Academy Fellows, comprising College and School teaching award winners. Such observations are supplemented with dialogues on pedagogical differences in teaching approaches and contexts.
Such observation opportunities generally take place as part of the Foundations of University Learning and Teaching programme.
